Xiamen is one of the few MICE cities in China that has owned large modern exhibition centers and convention centers. With 100,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space and more than 20 large and medium-sized meeting rooms, Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition center has the complete capacity to host large-scaled events of exhibitions and conferences within the same time. Separated by one road, Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition center is a comprehensive conference center with broad spaces and state-of-the-art facilities, meeting the various needs of different MICE activities. There are altogether 1,908 hotels and inns in the city, including 82 star hotels and 19 five-star hotels. For meeting venues, around 104 meeting spaces and 644 meeting rooms with complete ancillary facilities are available to hold various conferences, forums and workshops, with a total area of 133,000 square meters.
At the same time, a new convention and exhibition center, which is under construction, has been regarded as the strategic project for the city’s high-quality development and cross-island urbanization. Located in Xiang’an new Sports and MICE area, the huge project will occupy an indoor exhibition area of 300,000 square meters, an outdoor exhibition space of 100,000 square meters, and a conference center of 150,000 square meters. In view of the requirements of venues and accommodations for large-scale conference events, a great complex will be established to integrate complete and large conference facilities, luxury hotels and budget hotels with different scales, so as to form a strong market competitiveness.
Relying on the experiences from "China International Fair for Investment and Trade", which has been held for nearly 30 years, Xiamen has established the most perfect coordination mechanism in China to facilitate local major MICE activities.
